BOSS Cooperative

BOSS Cooperative, LLC

Terms and Conditions

Effective date: [date the new site goes live]

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the BOSS Cooperative website and to everything you buy or attend through BOSS Cooperative, LLC ("BOSS", "we", "us"): private coaching, group memberships, programs and courses, events, trips, expeditions and residency programs.  By using the site, making a purchase or taking part, you agree to them.  If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

2. Who can take part

You must be at least 18 to buy from us.  Minors may attend an event or trip only with a parent or legal guardian who has accepted these terms on their behalf.

3. What we offer, and what we don't promise

We offer education, coaching, community and organized experiences.  We work hard to make every session and event useful, practical and worth your time.

We do not guarantee any income, business result, immigration result or other outcome.  What you do with what you learn is your decision and your responsibility.  Nothing we provide is legal, tax, financial, medical or immigration advice.  Where you need that advice, hire a qualified professional.

4. Payments

  • All prices are in US dollars.
  • You authorize us to charge the payment method you provide for the amounts you agree to at purchase, including scheduled balances and recurring membership fees.
  • You are responsible for any bank, wire, currency conversion or card fees charged by your bank or provider, and for any taxes that apply to you.
  • If a payment fails, we may retry it and may pause your access or hold your place until it is paid.
  • If you have a billing concern, contact us first at [email protected] so we can fix it.  A chargeback filed without contacting us may result in loss of access and forfeiture of any credit.

5. Group memberships

  • Memberships are month to month and billed automatically each month.
  • You may cancel at any time by written notice to [email protected].  Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for.
  • There are no refunds for membership fees, including unused time.
  • We guarantee that a coach will show up at the scheduled time each week.
  • We may end or suspend a membership for misconduct or breach of these terms.

6. Programs, courses and private coaching

  • Programs and courses (including Freedom Flightpath) are non-refundable once purchased.
  • Private coaching sessions and packages are paid in advance and are non-refundable.
  • You may reschedule a private session with at least 24 hours' notice.  Sessions missed without notice are forfeited.
  • You may pause a coaching package for up to four weeks, twice per calendar year, by written request.
  • Unused private sessions expire 6 months from the date of purchase.
  • If a client dies or becomes seriously incapacitated, we will refund unused prepaid private sessions to the client or their estate on written request.

7. Events, trips, expeditions and residency programs

7.1 No refunds; 50% credit

Payments for events are non-refundable.  If you cancel or do not attend, we keep 50% of the total price of your booking.

  • If you have paid in full, the other 50% of the total price becomes a credit toward another future BOSS event, trip or expedition.
  • If you have paid only the deposit, the deposit is kept and no credit is given.
  • Credits cannot be used for coaching, memberships or programs.

7.2 Credits

Every credit:

  • expires 12 months from the date of your original purchase;
  • belongs to you alone and cannot be transferred, sold or given to anyone else;
  • has no cash value and can be used once;
  • covers only its own amount, with any price difference paid by you.

7.3 Deposits and balances

Where a deposit option is offered:

  • the deposit is at least 50% of the total price;
  • the balance is due on the date shown at purchase;
  • we will charge it automatically to your card on file on that date, unless we have received your payment by ACH or wire beforehand;
  • if the balance is not paid within 7 days of the due date, we may release your place.  The deposit is kept and no credit is given.

7.4 If BOSS cancels or changes the dates

You choose one of the following:

  • move everything you have paid to our new dates or to another BOSS date; or
  • where we offer it, continue independently with our document guidance and legal appointments, as an even exchange for what you have paid.

If any of your documents expire because of a change of dates, getting new documents and apostilles is your responsibility and at your cost.

7.5 Events beyond our control

If an event cannot go ahead or you cannot attend because of something outside our control (for example a government closure or rule change, border or travel restriction, natural disaster, epidemic, civil unrest, strike or airline failure), we are not able to refund.  The rule in 7.1 applies: if you have paid in full, 50% of the total price becomes a credit toward another event or date, valid for 12 months from the date of your original purchase.  If you have paid only the deposit, the deposit is kept and no credit is given.

7.6 Your documents are your responsibility

You are responsible for your passport, visas, vaccinations, apostilles, translations and any other documents, for their accuracy, and for meeting every deadline.  We are not responsible for costs or lost places caused by missing, late, expired or incorrect documents.

7.7 What is and isn't included

Each event page lists what is included.  Flights, transfers, meals, activities and anything else not listed are at your cost.

7.8 Third parties

Airlines, accommodation, restaurants, transport, activity operators and attorneys are independent businesses.  We choose them with care but do not control them and are not responsible for their acts, omissions, delays or changes.

7.9 Conduct

We keep our events safe, respectful and inclusive.  We may remove anyone whose behaviour is unsafe, unlawful, abusive or disruptive.  Removal carries no refund and no credit, and any costs of leaving are yours.

7.10 Family discounts

Family pricing applies only to legal family (spouse, parent, sibling or child) as shown by your documents.  If a relationship cannot be verified, the discount is reversed and the difference is due before travel.

8. Residency programs

  • No guarantee of residency. We provide guidance, organization and introductions.  The government alone decides every application, and we cannot promise approval, timing or any particular outcome.
  • Rules change. Requirements, fees and processing times can change at any time and without notice.  Any additional government, legal, translation or document costs that arise are yours.
  • We are not a law firm. BOSS is not an immigration adviser, law firm or tax adviser.  The attorneys who handle your application are independent professionals, and your legal relationship is with them.
  • Your information must be true. You are responsible for the truth and completeness of everything you submit.
  • Get to Know credit. If you attend a Get to Know trip, you receive a $500 credit toward a BOSS residency program in the same country, valid for 12 months from that trip.

9. Assumption of risk and release

Travel and group activities carry real risks, including illness, injury, accident, theft, delay, political or weather events, and risks from activities such as horseback riding, water activities, hiking and local transport.  Medical care abroad may differ from what you are used to.

By taking part you confirm that you:

  • understand and accept these risks, and take part voluntarily;
  • are fit to travel and to join the activities you choose;
  • are responsible for your own safety, belongings and decisions.

To the fullest extent the law allows, you release BOSS Cooperative, LLC and its owners, coaches, staff and contractors from all claims for loss, injury, illness, death or damage arising from your participation, except where caused by our gross negligence or deliberate misconduct.

10. Photos, video and recordings

  • Release. By taking part in any BOSS event, trip, group session or other activity, you give BOSS Cooperative, LLC permanent, worldwide, royalty-free permission to take, use and publish photos, video and recordings of you, with or without your name, in any media and for any lawful purpose, including marketing.  You waive any right to review or approve them and any claim to payment.
  • Ownership. Photos, video and recordings made by BOSS or on its behalf belong to BOSS.
  • What you share. Photos, video and messages you share in BOSS group chats or with our team may be used by BOSS in the same way.
  • Group sessions are recorded and may be shared with members.  You may not record sessions yourself or share recordings or transcripts outside the group.
  • Private coaching sessions are published only with the participant's written consent.

11. Confidentiality and community

What members share in sessions and group spaces stays there.  Be kind and respectful to coaches and other members.

12. Our content

Everything on the site and everything we provide (text, images, video, materials, recordings) belongs to BOSS Cooperative, LLC.  It is for your personal use and may not be copied, shared or resold without our written permission.

13. Limit of our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the specific service the claim relates to;
  • we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost opportunities or travel costs.

14. Disputes

If something goes wrong, write to us at [email protected] and give us 30 days to resolve it with you.  These terms are governed by the laws of South Dakota.  Any dispute that cannot be resolved between us will be heard only in the state or federal courts serving Minnehaha County, South Dakota.

15. General

  • We may update these terms.  The version in force when you purchase applies to that purchase.
  • If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • These terms, together with the details shown at purchase, are the whole agreement between us.
