Snow-capped Karakoram peaks above a green lake in northern Pakistan

Business Auntie's Edge of the Map Expedition · June 16 - 24, 2027

Nine days of adventure in Northern Pakistan, and real work on what's holding your business back.

Save Your Spot

There's a question about your business that you keep coming back to.

It could be which of your ideas deserves your time, how to attract more of the right clients, or how to stop every decision from landing on your desk.

You've been meaning to sort it out.  I know, because the work never stops and someone always needs you.

Sitting at the same desk isn't going to fix this.  You need mountains that stop you mid-sentence, rivers that look impossible, and people who stay with you all day, not just in sessions, until you actually answer the question.

I'm taking eight of you to the edge of the map.

Registration closes May 5, 2027.

Pakistan

Where we're going

This is where the Himalaya and Karakoram ranges crash into each other.  The lakes and rivers are a blue so ridiculous they look like Gatorade poured by aliens, and you'll find centuries-old forts, a cold desert, and more goats ready to stare you down than you knew existed.

You'll meet business owners who solve problems with what's actually available.  I've watched a vendor chill drinks in a glacial stream because he didn't need a fridge.  You'll come home looking at your own systems and limiting beliefs differently.

Most people will never stand here, and it's not because they can't.  They just keep finding reasons not to, and you don't have to be one of them.

Outcomes

What you walk away with

We start with an onboarding call to lock in your one central business question.  Then every day in the mountains, you work on it with me, Matt, Muhammad, and seven other people building something of their own: in sessions, over dinner, and in the 4x4.

Can't choose between ideas?  We'll pressure-test them until one wins.  Need more of the right clients?  We'll pin down who they are, where to find them, and what keeps them coming back.  Is everything running through you?  We'll figure out what to hand off and build the systems to make it stick.

You leave with a 90-day action plan you can start the week you get home.  Then we keep going with one group Zoom call a month for three months after the trip, and a 12-month WhatsApp group with all three coaches.

Nine days in the north

Daily coaching runs through all of it, with real downtime at our hotels and resorts.

  1. June 16
  2. Islamabad. We'll meet you at the airport or arrange your hotel shuttle.  Then it's welcome dinner, introductions, and shopping for your own shalwar kameez, the traditional long tunic and loose trousers worn across Pakistan.  It's included.
  3. June 17
  4. Skardu. We take one of the most beautiful flights in the world.  On a clear day, you can see Nanga Parbat, the ninth-highest mountain on Earth, right from your seat, and it's worth staying awake for.  Then we go boating on Lake Kachura and visit Shangri La Resort.
  5. June 18 - 23
  6. Skardu. Target shooting, the Manthal Buddha rock carving, and a zipline over the lake.
  7. Katpana Desert. Horse riding or a camel cart across the cold desert, a bonfire under the stars, and an evening integration session.
  8. Deosai and Shigar. Deosai National Park and Sheosar Lake, then rafting the Shigar River.
  9. Shigar and Skardu. Shigar Fort, archery, and the working sessions that turn the week into your 90-day plan.
  10. Every day. Two to four hours of coaching, reflection exercises, and real downtime at our hotels and resorts.
  11. June 24
  12. Closing day. Breakfast, our closing session, your finished 90-day plan, and the flight back to Islamabad.
  13. After June 24
  14. Weather buffer. Mountain weather has opinions, and Skardu flights get delayed.  Leave up to two extra days before your international flight home.  We'll walk you through exactly what to book on your onboarding call.

Coaches

Your coaches

Billie Olds

Billie Olds · Your host, strategist, and Business Auntie

I'm your host, your guide, and your Business Auntie for the whole trip.  I see opportunities other people miss, and they're usually hiding inside the problem you're most tired of.  So I start by asking why it's a problem at all.

I'm good at recognizing patterns, and I build from the ground up, starting with how your business actually runs, not how a template says it should.  Whether you're just starting or you're in deeper than you planned, I'll help you find the way forward and start building.

Matt Samp

Matt Samp · Marketing and positioning

Matt makes people understand what you sell.  He'll help you connect what you're good at with what someone will pay for, figure out who needs it most, and say it in words a real person would use.  He's been to Pakistan with me both times, and he's looking forward to returning as much as I am.

Muhammad Umar Draz

Muhammad Umar Draz · Systems, AI, and automation

Muhammad leads our AI and automation team.  He'll show you where better systems and the right tools can take repetitive work off your plate, so your business runs from wherever you are.  He also lives in Pakistan, so you get a coach who knows the country from the inside.

All three of us run location-independent businesses.  We built them so we could go on adventures like this one, and now we're bringing you along.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Is it safe?

I've been to Pakistan twice, both times with Matt.  The first was two weeks for Muhammad's wedding.  The second was nearly a month: we flew from Islamabad to Skardu, drove all over the north up to the Khunjerab Pass on the Chinese border, and then drove all the way back to Islamabad.  Muhammad lives in Pakistan, so you'll have a coach who knows the country from the inside.

On this trip, we work with an experienced northern Pakistan travel company and professional local mountain guides.  Everywhere we go in the north, you ride in a 4x4 with a driver who knows high-altitude roads, and we travel as a group through every scheduled activity.  Check your own government's travel advice too, and if you want a straight answer for your situation, book a call with me.

Do I need to own a business already?

No.  You can come with an existing business or a serious intention to start one.  We'll set a question that fits where you are.

Do I need to speak Urdu?

No.  Everything runs in English.

When does registration close?

May 5, 2027.

How do flights work?

You book all your own flights.  We'll tell you exactly which flights to take between Islamabad and Skardu so we travel together.  Run your international itinerary by us before you buy, and we'll meet you at the Islamabad airport or arrange your hotel shuttle.

What do I pay for on my own?

All flights, including the flights between Islamabad and Skardu.  Visa fees and travel insurance covering Pakistan, which is required.  Personal gear, medications, SIM or data, extra snacks and drinks, and shopping.  Medical treatment and emergency evacuation.  Extra nights or costs from early arrival, late departure, or weather delays.

Can you help with the visa?

Yes.  We'll help with the application.  We'll need your passport ID page and your digital visa document.  Visa fees aren't included.

Where do I stay?

Your first night in Islamabad and every night of the expedition are covered, in hotels and resorts.  All rooms are based on double occupancy, so you'll share with one other participant of the same gender, or you can add $850 for your own room.  Extra nights for early arrival or the weather buffer aren't included.

Are meals included?

Yes.  You get a welcome dinner in Islamabad, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on every full day, and breakfast on the last day.  Extra snacks and drinks aren't included.

How does payment work?

Pay in full and save 5%, or hold your place with a 50% deposit.  The balance is due May 16, 2027, four weeks before departure.

Can I bring my kids?

No.  The trip is intense and built around real business work, so it's limited to adults 18 and older.

What if the weather changes plans?

Activities, lodging, and travel can shift with mountain conditions, so leave up to two extra days after June 24.  Extra costs from delays aren't included in the price, and this is exactly what travel insurance is for.

What about my health?

Talk with your doctor before applying, especially about altitude.  If you have questions about a specific activity or your mobility, book a call with me first.

Is this tax deductible?

That depends on your business and where you file, so check with your accountant.  We don't give tax advice.

What's the cancellation policy?

Payments are non-refundable because we start booking guides, lodging, and activities as soon as you sign up.  If you've paid in full and can't make it, half of what you paid becomes a credit toward another BOSS Cooperative trip, event, or residency taking place within 12 months of your purchase date.  Deposits aren't credited.

If we cancel for safety, government restrictions, or circumstances beyond our control, you get full credit toward a future BOSS Cooperative trip, event, or residency.  If we reschedule, your payment moves to the new dates.  Travel insurance covering Pakistan is required.
